JAKARTA. The extensive amount of insurance claims that was recently announced brought upon positive effect on insurance industry, with public insurance companies recording jump in its price.

Recently, Association of General Insurance of Indonesia (AAUI) revealed that general insurance claims had reached IDR 33.38 trillion as of September 2024, or increasing 18.5% year-on-year (yoy).

“This exceeds the increase in premium,” said Trinita Situmeang, Vice Head of Statistics, Research, and Analytic Division of AAUI, in a press conference last Tuesday (3/12).

According to IDNFinancials data, 13 issuers listed under insurance industry were shifting to the green zone last Tuesday (3/12). The highest increase was registered by PT MSIG Life Insurance Indonesia (LIFE), reaching 5.86% or 425-point jump to IDR 7,675 per share.

However, 4 out of 18 insurance industry issuers were in the red zone, with the deepest plunge reported by PT Asuransi Bintang Tbk (ASBI) of 3.67% or 20-point decline.

Lastly, PT Asuransi Bina Data Arta Tbk (ABDA) is the only company stagnating among its industry peers. (KR/ZH)
