MTEL spends IDR 650 billion on UMT
JAKARTA - PT Dayamitra Telekomunikasi Tbk (MTEL) expands its fibre optic portfolio by acquiring PT Ultra Mandiri Telekomunikasi (UMT), a subsidiary of PT PP Infrastruktur (PPI), for IDR 650 billion.
Theodorus Ardi Hartoko, President Director of MTEL, claimed that UMT acquisition has a strategic value in reinforcing business ecosystem and maintaining market share.
“The consistency in consolidating tower, fibre optic, and other supporting services will bring Mitratel to be the biggest digital infraco partner in Asia Pacific,” Hartoko said, as quoted Wednesday (4/12).
PP Infrastruktur is a subsidiary of PT Pembangunan Perumahan (Persero) Tbk (PTPP). The agreement signing regarding acquisition took place earlier this week (2/12) after going through beauty contest. (LK/ZH)
