Proboya Palu reports high gold content, BRMS optimistic about increased production
JAKARTA – PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS) has announced mineral reserve reports from the River Reef and Hill Reef mining sites in Proboya, Palu, following drilling activities conducted by AMC Consultants from Australia.
The report, prepared in accordance with Joint Ore Reserves Committee (JORC) standards, revealed gold grades of 3.2 grams per ton (g/t), with total gold reserves amounting to 3.54 million ounces.
A significant 84% of the gold reserves come from underground mining prospects, particularly in the River Reef area, with a high gold grade of 4.9 g/t. Meanwhile, the open-pit mining prospects in River Reef and Hill Reef showed gold grades of 1.7 g/t and 0.79 g/t, respectively.
Agus Projosasmito, President Director and CEO of BRMS, stated that the higher gold grades found in the underground reserves indicate promising future production performance. "We hope to soon begin mining the underground mineral reserves in Palu," Agus said in a written statement today.
BRMS subsidiary PT Citra Palu Minerals (CPM), which holds the contract of work for the Proboya mine, has appointed PT Macmahon Indonesia (MMI) as the mining contractor. MMI is part of Macmahon Holdings Limited, listed on the Australian Securities Exchange. (KR/ZH)
