Foreign sell hit 5 billion shares, net foreign volume closed at -991 million shares
JAKARTA – Foreign transactions on Tuesday, December 17, recorded a foreign sell volume of 5.10 billion shares, while the foreign buy volume was only around 4.11 billion shares.
As a result, net foreign volume plummeted to the red zone, closing at -991.73 million shares.
Because the purchase value was less than the sale value, net foreign also closed with a net sell this time. Specifically, the value is in the red zone at IDR 1.63 trillion, or USD 101.62 million.
Even yet, the year-to-date net foreign value, which has reached IDR 17.67 trillion or USD 1.10 billion, is still considered a net buy.
With the largest share sale, foreign investors sold 2.90 billion shares of digital company PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) with a net volume of -530 million shares.
In second place, the state-owned bank PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI)'s shares were sold for 264.53 million shares, with a net volume of -156.09 million shares. With a comparable sales amount, 278.22 million shares of PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) were also sold. This coal mining business had a net volume of -130.05 million shares.
The following shares sold belonged to PT Bumi Teknokultura Unggul Tbk (BTEK), totaling 65.91 million shares. This issuer did not have any share acquisitions, therefore, its net volume was -65.91 million shares.
PT Avia Avian Tbk (AVIA) closed the top sell list with 149.91 million shares sold and a net volume of -51.54 million shares.
Meanwhile, energy resources infrastructure company PT Astrindo Nusantara Infrastruktur Tbk (BIPI) led the buy list with a foreign buy of 172.74 million shares and a net volume of almost 156 million shares.
Foreigners then purchased 36.22 million shares of PT Janu Putra Sejahtera Tbk (AYAM) for a net volume of 32.82 million shares.
Aside from that, 62.51 million shares of PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA) were acquired, followed by 23.37 million shares of PT MNC Land Tbk (KPIG). The acquisition of the two issuers resulted in a net volume of almost 20 million shares apiece.
Finally, 16.86 million shares of PT Pyridam Farma Tbk (PYFA) were purchased, with a net volume of roughly 16.60 million shares. (KD)
