JAKARTA. Jakarta Stock Price Composite Index (JCI) was closed 1.39% or 100.9 points lower, arriving at 7,157.73.

This downtrend has been consistent for the past 4 trading days, since last Thursday (12/12). Today’s decline was the most significant compared to other days’ decreases, which was only below 1%.

The laggards today were dominated by banking companies, such as PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI), which led the Top Laggards leaderboard with 12.95 points decline, followed by PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) of 12.92 points decline. PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) then arrived at the third position with 10.93 points decline.

Meanwhile, PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN) secured the first spot of Top Leaders, boosting index by 13.96 points, followed by PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk (DSSA) and PT Petrindo Jaya Kreasi Tbk (CUAN), with increases of 2.71 and 0.70 points.

JCI decline was accompanied by the downtrend of 11 sectoral indices. Industry sector saw the biggest dip od 2.32%, while infrastructure was spotted with only 0.04% decline. (KR/ZH)
