JAKARTA – With a volume of 279.56 million shares, net foreign on Friday, January 3, was still closed at a net sell position. A total of 3.44 billion shares were bought by foreign buyers, while 3.72 billion shares were sold.

PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS), a mineral mining business, was the first of the top five stocks on the top sell list. Following the sale of nearly 250 million shares by foreign investors, this issuer reported a net sell of 170.09 million shares.

With a net sell of 86.33 million and a foreign sales volume of 168.02 million shares, PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI), the parent company of BRMS, came in second.

PT Sinergi Inti Andalan Prima Tbk (INET), a fiber optic infrastructure business, came next. Its net volume was reported as a net sell of 43.14 million shares after foreigners released 63.31 million INET shares.

Following that, 74.29 million shares of PT Darma Henwa Tbk (DEWA), a mining contractor, and 88.87 million shares of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI), a general bank, were sold by foreign investors. Both issuers reported net sells of between 34 and 36 million shares.


However, with 67.02 million shares, the renewable energy business PT Maharaksa Biru Energi Tbk (OASA) had the greatest net buy. Despite not selling in large quantities, foreigners were observed purchasing around 68.48 million OASA shares.

In fact, foreign purchase and sell activities against PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO), the parent firm of digital services, were extremely large, amounting to over 2 billion shares. GOTO only disclosed a net purchase of 52.57 million shares, though.

Forklift and material handling equipment rental firm PT Sarana Mitra Luas Tbk (SMIL) and energy and industry company PT Barito Pacific Tbk (BRPT) then recorded a net buy of approximately 23 million shares. Over 35 million BRPT shares and over 27 million SMIL shares were purportedly purchased by foreign investors.

As a result of foreigners purchasing 24.60 million shares of this electric car battery company, PT Merdeka Battery Materials Tbk (MBMA) closed the top buy list with a net buy of 20.38 million shares. (KD)
