JAKARTA – Shares of four out of 10 coal companies with a market capitalization above IDR 25 trillion have shown growth over the past year. Among these four companies, PT Golden Energy Mines Tbk (GEMS) posted the highest share performance growth.

According to data compiled by IDN Financials on Monday (January 6), the four coal companies that saw share price growth between January 5, 2024, and the early trading session on January 6, 2025, are PT Bayan Resources Tbk (BYAN) with a market cap of IDR 679.16 trillion, GEMS at IDR 67.73 trillion, PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) at IDR 46.04 trillion, and PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) at IDR 30.90 trillion.

GEMS led the pack with an impressive share growth of 89.40%, climbing from IDR 5,900 to IDR 11,175 per share. BUMI followed in second place with a 25.25% increase, rising from IDR 99 to IDR 124 per share.

Meanwhile, BYAN’s shares rose 2.38%, from IDR 19,900 to IDR 20,375 per share, and PTBA saw a modest gain of 0.75%, increasing from IDR 2,660 to IDR 2,680 per share. (LK/ZH)
