Controlling shareholder increases stake in ALKA by 15%
JAKARTA – PT Alakasa Industrindo Tbk (ALKA), a company operating in the metal and aluminum sector, announced that PT Gesit Perkasa has increased its shareholding to 15%.
Gesit Perkasa, the controlling shareholder of ALKA, previously held 325.11 million shares, equivalent to 69% of the company's total shares.
Following the acquisition of an additional 73.28 million shares on December 31, 2024, Gesit Perkasa's ownership rose to 425.39 million shares, or 84%.
According to today's disclosure (7/1), the purpose of this transaction was for investment. With a purchase price of IDR 374 per share, the total value of the transaction amounted to approximately IDR 27.41 billion.
It is worth noting that this purchase price is significantly higher than ALKA's share price at the end of last year, which stood at IDR 362 per share.
On 31 December 2024, ALKA also recorded the sale of 81.43 million shares owned by PT Gesit Alumnas at the same price of Rp374 per share.
This divestment, representing 16% of the company’s shares, equates to the entire stake held by Gesit Alumnas in ALKA.
As a result of this transaction, PT Gesit Perkasa now holds 84% of ALKA's shares, consolidating its position as the company’s primary shareholder, with the remaining shares in public hands.
As of today (7/1), ALKA's share price has dropped to IDR 338 per share at 11 AM, down from IDR 348 at the close of trading yesterday (6/1). (ZH)
