JAKARTA – Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) remained flat from the opening of the morning session to the close of the afternoon session on Tuesday (7/1).

By the end of the day, JCI closed at 7,083.28 points at 4:00 PM WIB, largely unchanged from the morning session opening at 7,085.56 points.

The decline in the shares of national banking companies contributed to the slowdown of the IHSG towards the close of trading.

Several banking stocks that faced declines included PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) , which dropped 1.55% to IDR 9,525 from IDR 9,675 at the start of the session. PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) fell 1.71% to IDR 4,030 from IDR 4,080, and PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) slipped 1.32% to IDR 5,600 from IDR 5,675.

On the other hand, several stocks helped sustain the IHSG, including PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN), which rose 7.65% to IDR 10,550 from IDR 9,850, PT Barito Pacific Tbk (BRPT), up 1.53% to IDR 995 from IDR 980, and PT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk (AMMN), which increased 4.82% to IDR 8,700 from IDR 8,300 per share.
