JAKARTA – The Bayan Group carried out mining exploration activities in three areas with a total expenditure of USD 2.49 million in the fourth quarter of 2024.

In a disclosure on Friday (10/1), Jenny Quantero, Director of PT Bayan Resources Tbk (BYAN), stated that the mining exploration activities were conducted by third parties in three of its subsidiaries: PT Wahana Baratama Mining (WBM), PT Perkasa Inakakerta (PI), and PT Tanur Jaya (TJ).

The exploration at WBM was conducted by PT Elnusa Tbk (ELSA), which carried out vibro point surveys at 6,322 locations. Meanwhile, exploration at PI's Sepaso and Beruang Blocks was handled by PT Kwarsa Sentosa Abadi (KSA), resulting in 47 drilling points with a total depth of 4,800 meters.

At TJ, located in the southern part of the concession area, KSA conducted shallow drilling at 48 points and deep drilling at 9 points, reaching a total depth of 4,505 meters.

It is known that the three BYAN subsidiaries operate in East and South Kalimantan. For example, WBM’s mine is located in Satui Regency, South Kalimantan. Operations at this mine began in 2007, with the production of high-calorific bituminous coal reaching 1-2 million tons per year. (LK)
