Has RMKE's subsidiary's exploration been fully realised?
JAKARTA – PT RMK Energy Tbk (RMKE) has released the exploration report of its subsidiary, PT Truba Bara Banyu Enim (TBBE), covering the period from October to December 2024.
The Q4 2024 exploration activities were focused on a concession area spanning 10,242 hectares, including Block A - Lekukam (3,720 ha), Block B - Pinang (2,000 ha), and Block C - Benakat (4,522 ha).
The company employed a direct drilling method in Block A - Lekukam. Prior to drilling, TBBE evaluated the depth and thickness of coal seams using electrical logging to ensure the accuracy of geological data.
The initial exploration plan included drilling at 52 points with a total depth of 5,460 meters. However, land acquisition issues became a primary obstacle for the company.
According to a disclosure from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) on Thursday (16/1), TBBE explained that drilling planned for Block A - Lekukam and Block B - Pinang has not been fully realised. The coring target for this period was 1,101 meters, while the non-coring target was 4,359 meters.
In Q1 2025, TBBE intends to continue exploration in Block A - Lekukam and Block B - Pinang with an initial target of drilling 29 points at a total depth of 3,540 meters.
The exploration phase will use the open-hole method to better understand the geometry of coal seams, with a drilling budget of IDR1.401 billion for Q1 2025.
This budget includes costs for drilling, geophysical logging, and technical supervision. (DK/ZH)
