Petrosea secures jumbo contract of USD 1 billion from Vale
JAKARTA. PT Petrosea Tbk (PTRO) has obtained a new contract worth USD 1 billion, equal to IDR 1.6 trillion, from PT Vale Indonesia Tbk (INCO).
Wiwik Wahyuni, Corporate Secretary of INCO, mentioned that the company manages to obtain the contract after joining a tender.
“The tender winner announcement will then be followed by contract signing by both parties,” said Wahyuni in the official statement.
The contract received by PTRO includes mining service works in Bahodopi Bloc 2 and 3, Central Sulawesi. The scope of work includes overburden removal, nickel ore mining and transport, as well as infrastructure development regarding mining services.
The contract term will extend to 10 years. However, as of now, PTRO and INCO are reportedly still finalising the mining service contract.
“We expect to conclude [contract signing] in March 2025,” Wahyuni said. (KR/ZH)
