Greenlit, Unilever Indonesia to rake in IDR 7 trillion from ice cream business sale
JAKARTA – PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk (UNVR) has officially transferred its ice cream business to PT Magnum Ice Cream Indonesia. This decision was approved in the company’s Independent Shareholders Meeting (RUPSI) on Tuesday (14/1).
According to the disclosure, the decision was approved by 77.9% of the independent shareholders present, representing 45.78% of the total shares.
“Consenting votes together with Abstain votes totalled 3,362,953,449 shares, representing 58.74% of the total shares with valid voting rights owned by independent shareholders,” the management explained in the minutes of the meeting.
With this transaction approval, UNVR is projected to raise IDR 7 trillion from divesting this business line.
According to tempo.co, UNVR plans to distribute the net proceeds from the divestment as cash dividends to shareholders, although the company has not yet provided further details.
Based on historical data from IDNFinancials, UNVR typically schedules the final dividend distribution in mid-July. Last December, UNVR also distributed an interim dividend of IDR 41 per share.
As of September 2024, UNVR’s cash and cash equivalents reached IDR 539.64 billion, significantly down from IDR 1.02 trillion recorded in December 2023. (ZH)
