Credit distribution projected to slow down in Q1 2025
JAKARTA – Banking Survey of Bank Indonesia (SPB-BI) projects credit distribution to extend its growth to Q1 2025, albeit lower than Q4 2024. The credit will be prioritised for wholesale and retail trading sector, manufacturing industry, and financial brokerage.
Citing SPB-BI Q4 2024 published today (20/1), new credit channelling in Q1 2025 is projected to reach Weighted Net Balance (WNB) of 82.3%, lower than 97.9% seen in Q4 2024. However, it still arrives higher than 80.6% in Q3 2024.
On the other hand, Standard Lending Index (SLI) in Q1 2025 is valued at 0.2, relatively stable compared to Q4 2024, indicating that the credit distribution policy in Q1 2025 is as strict as the period before.
In the meantime, third party funds (DPK) in Q1 2025 were projected to decline from the previous period, as WNB of DPK arrives at 68.2%, much lower than 89.3% in the previous quarter. DPK’s slowing down occurred across all instruments, including savings accounts, current accounts, and deposits.
Respondents of the survey also predicts that outstanding credit until the end of 2025 will jump 10.34% year-on-year (yoy), relatively stable compared to credit growth in 2024 of 10.39%. By the end of this year, the WNB of DPK is estimated to reach 99.6%, growing much higher than 89.3% seen in 2024. (LK/ZH)
