JAKARTA – Jakarta Composite Index (JCI was closed 24.49 points or 0.34% lower to 7,232.64 at yesterday’s (24/1) session.

Top Leaders of JCI’s positive shift were PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI), contributing 6.15 index points, followed by PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN) with 5.78 index points, and PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) with 4.39 index points.

On the other hand, conglomerates’ shares turned out to perform less satisfactorily, leading Top Laggards of JCI yesterday.

PT Pantai Indah Kapuk Dua Tbk (PANI) was at the first spot of Top Laggards of JCI with 19.89% decline in price, thus pressuring the index by 11.59 points. PANI was followed by PT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk (AMMN) that slipped 2.33% and dragged down JCI by 6.41 points, as well as PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBNI) with 2.92% decrease in price and pushed down index by 5.12 points.

Foreign investors booked net buy of IDR 18.01 billion at yesterday’s session. However, they have recorded net sell of IDR 3.04 trillion since the beginning of this year.

Yesterday’s transaction volume stood at 15.51 billion shares, down 5.66% from the session the day before. Transaction value also dropped 5.29% to IDR 14.12 trillion, whereas transaction frequency increased 13% to 1.39 million. (KR/ZH)
