JCI weakens by 1.36% in the first trading session today
JAKARTA – The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) fell by 1.36% or 97.49 points to 7,068.57 in the first trading session on Thursday (30/1).
Shares of several blue-chip companies in the Financial, Energy, and Basic Materials sectors were observed to decline.
During the first session of trading today, the IHSG reached its lowest level at 7,042.69. After initially hitting its highest point at 7,168.58 shortly after the market opened, the index quickly slid into negative territory.
In the energy sector, blue-chip stocks such as PT Alamtri Resources Indonesia Tbk (ADRO) fell by 1.30%. Shares of PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGAS) dropped by 2.12%, and PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) was down by 0.37%.
Among banking blue chips, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) declined by 1.60%, PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) dropped by 0.82%, and PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) fell by 1.91%.
In the Basic Materials sector, blue-chip stocks such as PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM) fell by 5.37%, PT Semen Indonesia Tbk (SMGR) decreased by 3.74%, and PT Indocement Tunggal Perkasa Tbk (INTP) dropped by 4.13%. (LK/KR/ZH)
