US ambitions to dominate AI through US$500bn Stargate project
JAKARTA ؘ- United States (US) President Donald Trump recently announced the Stargate project, a joint venture of a number of private companies that is expected to have a major impact on Artificial Intelligence (AI) innovation.
In his official announcement (21/1), Trump was accompanied by a number of important figures. So far it is not known how many investment commitments have been collected for this project. However, OpenAI said the initial funding for this project was ready to be disbursed. The investors involved in the initial funding, according to OpenAI, include Softbank, OpenAI, Oracle, and MGX from the United Arab Emirates.
‘We will start channeling US$100 billion in funding,’ wrote OpenAI.
