JAKARTA – On Monday, February 3, the first day of February saw a positive start to the buying and selling of stocks by foreign investors on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Following the sale of 3.20 billion shares and the purchase of almost 3.66 billion shares by foreigners, a net buy of 462.68 million was reported today.

With a transaction volume of only 1.33 billion, foreigners purchased about 1.85 billion shares of PT GOTO Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO), the parent company of digital services, today. At the top of the net buy list, with 513.30 million shares, were GOTO shares.

Additionally, after foreigners purchased 165.50 million of PT Astrindo Nusantara Infrastruktur Tbk's (BIPI) shares, the energy infrastructure company reported a net buy of 157.96 million shares.

The state bank PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) then recorded a net buy of 57.04 million shares, followed by the mineral mining business PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS) with 61.12 million shares.

While they purchased 144 million BBRI shares and sold 87 million shares, foreign investors were observed purchasing approximately 87 million BRMS shares and selling 26 million.

After 33.08 million of its shares were purchased and 11.31 million were released, the shipping and logistics business PT Bintang Samudera Mandiri Lines Tbk (SMIL) closed the net buy list with 21.76 million shares.

Bank Mandiri and BTN, two national banks, made the top sell list in the meantime. With 68.92 million shares, PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (BMRI) even posted the greatest net sell. Nearly 70 million of its shares were purchased by foreigners, but over 138 million were sold. After foreigners sold 24.42 million of its shares, PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BBTN) reported a net sell of 20.69 million shares.

The digital company PT Solusi Sinergi Digital Tbk (WIFI), or Surge, then announced a net sell of 29.10 million shares after real estate developer PT Pakuwon Jati Tbk (PWON) reported a net sell of 34.68 million shares.

PWON's foreign sales volume reached 47.22 million shares, while WIFI's was 74.53 million shares.

In the end, foreigners sold 21.70 million shares of PT Visi Media Asia Tbk (VIVA) without buying any shares, resulting in a net sell of the same volume. (KD)
