Economy grows 5.03% in 2024, here are the key supporting sectors!
JAKARTA – Indonesia's economy grew by 5.03% (cumulative-to-cumulative) in 2024, slightly slowing compared to the 5.05% growth recorded in 2023.
Although there was a slight deceleration, the economic performance for 2024 remained within the consensus forecast range of 5.00% to 5.05%.
Amalia A. Widyasanti, the Acting Head of Statistics Indonesia (BPS), stated that growth was observed across all sectors. "All sectors experienced positive growth," Amalia said during a press conference on Wednesday (5/2).
She added that five key sectors significantly contributed to Indonesia's economic growth in 2024. These sectors were manufacturing, trade, agriculture, construction, and mining.
The contribution of the manufacturing sector to economic growth in 2024 was recorded at 18.98%, trade at 13.07%, construction at 10.09%, and mining at 9.15%.
Meanwhile, the sectors with the highest growth in 2024 were other services with 9.80%, transportation and warehousing at 8.69%, and accommodation at 8.56%.
BPS also recorded a 5.02% year-on-year growth for the fourth quarter of 2024, slightly lower than the 5.04% growth in the fourth quarter of 2023. (LK/ZH/KR)
