Solid loan disbursement, BMRI posts profit of IDR 55.8 trillion
JAKARTA – PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) recorded a net profit of IDR 55.8 trillion for the 2024 fiscal year, a slight increase of 1.3% year-on-year (yoy) compared to the previous year.
Darmawan Junaidi, President Director of BMRI, stated that the company's profit performance in 2024 was supported by non-interest income, which reached IDR 42.32 trillion, growing 4.12% yoy. Junaidi noted that this growth aligns with BMRI's optimization of fee-based income amidst the dynamic economic challenges in 2024.
“We continue to develop more innovative service solutions and add value for customers, ensuring more stable and sustainable long-term growth,” said Junaidi during a press conference on Wednesday (5/1) in Jakarta.
Additionally, the growth in loan disbursement in 2024 also boosted BMRI's performance. The total loan disbursement in 2024 amounted to IDR 1,670.55 trillion, growing 19.5% yoy, driven by wholesale credit performance.
“Throughout 2024, Bank Mandiri was able to drive growth in both loans and savings to more than double the industry growth rate,” Junaidi explained.
Despite the double-digit growth, BMRI maintained a prudent approach to loan disbursement. This was reflected in the company's Non-Performing Loan (NPL) ratio, which was kept at 0.97% in 2024, 5 basis points lower than the previous year.
Meanwhile, Third-Party Funds (DPK) collected by BMRI reached IDR 1,699 trillion, growing 7.73% yoy. Approximately 80.3% of the collected funds were low-cost funds or Current Account Savings Account (CASA).
“This success cannot be separated from the optimization of digital services such as Livin' by Mandiri, which has made transactions and financial planning more convenient for retail customers,” Junaidi remarked. (KR/ZH)
