JAKARTA - A number of mining companies have increased their production targets, especially in the gold commodity, following the increase in selling prices on the global market which is approaching record highs.

PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS) targets its gold production to reach 75,000 troy ounces by 2025, up 36.36% on an annual basis. This growth, said BRMS Management, will be supported by the BRMS underground mine project located in Palu, Central Sulawesi.

Meanwhile, PT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk (AMMN) targets gold production of 90,000 ounces. This target will be supported by the development of the Batu Hijau mine in West Nusa Tenggara.

PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk (MDKA) is targeting gold production of 100,000 to 110,000 troy ounces. This target is indeed lower than the realisation of gold production in 2024. However, by the end of the year, MDKA is expected to have additional production capacity, with the operation of the Pani Gold Project in Gorontalo later this year.

PT J Resources Asia Pasifik Tbk (PSAB) has not set its gold production target for 2025. However, in 2024, the company is optimistic that it can achieve a gold production target of 100,000 ounces. Then at the end of this year, the company is trying to increase its gold production capacity to more than 140,000 ounces through the Doup project in North Sulawesi.

According to IDN Financials' monitoring, the price of gold on the spot market was at US$2,873.77 per ounce at 9.40 am GMT today. This is 0.45% higher than the closing price on Friday (7/2) last week.
