JAKARTA – The government ensures the continuity of the development of Nusantara Capital City (IKN), setting the phase II development (2025-2029) budget to IDR 48.8 trillion, taken out of State Budget.

Troy Pantouw, Spokesperson of IKN Autority (OIKN), outlined that the budget will be spent on completing the ecosystem of judicial and legislative institutions, as well as other supporting facilities and infrastructures.

“This budget is in line with the President’s direction, amounting to IDR 48.8 trillion taken out of State Budget,” Pantouw stated to the press, Friday (7/2).

Aside from State Budget, phase-II development of IKN will also be supported by the Public Private Cooperation worth IDR 60.93 trillion, as well as private sector investment, worth IDR 6.49 trillion, in 2025.

Hasan Nasbi, Head of Communication of Presidential Office, added that the budget freeze in the Ministry of Public Works is only administrative and will not minimise required funding.

“Blocked does not mean the budget is entirely cut. The budget is there, but frozen,” Nasbi said.

IKN development remains as the government’s priority, aiming to turn IKN into Political Capital City by 2028. (DK/ZH)
