JAKARTA – Busrul Iman, CEO of PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Timur Tbk (BJTM), is determined to lead his bank to become the number one Regional Development Bank (BPD) in Indonesia. During an interview on the "Meet The CEO" program, hosted by IDNFinancials.com in collaboration with Suara.com, Busrul shared his vision and strategic plans to achieve this ambitious goal.
"Bank Jatim's vision is to become the top BPD in Indonesia. We have a core plan to reach this goal," Busrul stated in “Meet the CEO,” an exclusive interview program of IDNFinancials.com, this time collaborating with Suara.com, on Wednesday (5/2).
For the record, Busrul Iman interview was led by Mohamad Teguh, Editor-in-Chief of IDNFinancials.com (left), and Reza Gunadha, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Suara.com (right).
Busrul emphasized that to become number one, Bank Jatim must not only rely on organic growth but also seek exponential growth through inorganic means. He pointed out that businesses growing only in a linear fashion could easily fall behind competitors. "There must be something that can drive exponential growth," he explained.
To support this, Bank Jatim has been focusing on corporate actions such as establishing a Banking Group, a move aimed at expanding its business scale. Busrul also highlighted the importance of strengthening the bank's funding structure, especially with the Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) approaching 70-80%. "We are working on building stable, quality funding sources," he added.
He also addressed the challenge of high funding costs in recent periods, which has affected the banking industry. As a solution, Busrul plans to conduct corporate actions that will stabilize the bank's long-term funding structure, ensuring sustainable growth.
