Sri Mulyani confirms final 2025 APBN efficiency of IDR 306.69 trillion

JAKARTA – Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Minister of Finance, affirmed that the planned efficiency of ministry and agency (K/L) budgets, totalling IDR 306.69 trillion, remains unchanged despite waves of protests and adjustments within the respective ministries and agencies.
She confirmed that the total amount of efficiency remains the same, in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s directive in Presidential Instruction (Inpres) No. 1/2025 on Spending Efficiency in the Implementation of the State Budget (APBN) and Regional Budgets (APBD) for the 2025 fiscal year.
“The efficiency amount is still the same, with no changes after the reconstruction,” stated Sri Mulyani after attending a working meeting with Commission XI of the House of Representatives (DPR) on Thursday, February 13, 2025.
In the meeting, held from February 12-13, 2025, all ministries and agencies discussed budget efficiency strategies. Several ministries and agencies that were previously unaffected by the efficiency measures are now facing budget cuts. Some others have seen adjustments in their efficiency targets, including the Ministry of Finance itself.
Sri Mulyani explained that the efficiency is being implemented selectively, with employee salaries maintained, while cuts are being made to expenditures on goods and capital, such as official travel, office supplies, seminars, studies, ceremonial events, and commemorations.
The efficiency measures primarily target five main programmes, including Management Support, which will be reduced to IDR 42.41 trillion, Fiscal Policy to IDR 11.84 billion, Revenue Management to IDR 1.67 trillion, Spending Management to IDR 8.27 billion, and Treasury, State Assets, and Risk Management to IDR 100.35 billion.
