WSKT concludes IDR 1.7 T project in Aceh

JAKARTA - PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk (WSKT) has concluded the construction of Rukoh Dam in Pidie Regency, Aceh. This dam has a capacity of 128 million cubic metres (m3) with total cost of IDR 1.7 trillion.
Ermy Puspa Yunita, Corporate Secretary of WSKT, mentioned that this dam is set to support irrigation water supply to 12,194 hectares (ha) of agricultural land, as well as providing raw water of 900 litres per second.
“With Rukoh Dam operating, the agriculture production is projected to significantly increase. Farm index (average farming period) is expected to rise from 191% to 300%,” said Yunita in information disclosure, Friday (14/2).
Rukoh Dam, with surface area of 687 ha, has initiated impounding phase (water filling), so that it will be ready to be channelled into irrigated areas. It will also reduce flooding in three districts, namely Titeue, Keumala, and Sakti, with total impacted area of approximately 51 ha. (DK/ZH)
