JAKARTA – President Prabowo Subianto has ratified a regulation requiring the placement of 100% of Natural Resources Export Earnings (DHE SDA) in national banks, effective from March 1, 2025.

With this policy, the government aims to achieve a target of USD 100 billion in DHE SDA within a year.

Prabowo held a limited meeting with several ministers from the economic sector before this regulation was approved. "I was updated, I received reports on the developments from the Minister of Finance. I am very pleased that our economy is well-managed, and our inflation rate is currently the lowest in the world," he said in a press conference at the State Palace on Monday (17/2).

Through this regulation, Prabowo stated, the government aims to optimise natural resources for the prosperity of the nation and its people, including for funding development, circulating money domestically, increasing foreign exchange reserves, and stabilising the exchange rate. "So far, our export proceeds, particularly from natural resources, have largely been held abroad," he said.

To maximise the impact of managing DHE SDA, the government has established Government Regulation (PP) No. 8/2025. This regulation mandates that 100% of DHE SDA be placed domestically for a minimum of one year. The rule applies to the mining sector, excluding oil and gas, as well as agriculture, forestry, and fisheries.

For the sectors that are excluded, the implementation will still follow Government Regulation No. 36/2023. (LK/KR/ZH)
