JAKARTA – The government has successfully raised revenue totalling IDR 33.39 trillion from various tax schemes applied to the digital ecosystem as of January 31, 2025.

Of this amount, Value-Added Tax (VAT) on Trade Through Electronic Systems (PMSE) was the largest contributor, generating IDR 26.12 trillion.

The government has appointed 211 PMSE business entities as VAT collectors, 181 of which actively remit VAT, with a total collection of IDR 26.12 trillion since the tax’s introduction in 2020.

"The implementation of this tax aims to create equality between conventional and digital businesses. With more companies contributing, we can build a more equitable tax system," said Dwi Astuti, Director of Extension, Services, and Public Relations, in a press release last Tuesday (11/2).
