JAKARTA – The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) strengthened at the start of Tuesday's (18/2) trading session, driven by the performance growth of banking stocks with high market capitalisation.

In the morning, IHSG displayed dynamic movement with an upward trend. At 09:35 WIB, the index had risen by 41.32 points or 0.60% to 6,871.85 points. At the session’s opening at 09:00 WIB, the index stood at 6,851.92 points.

Several other indices were also observed to strengthen in the green zone. LQ45 gained 1% to 804.440, IDX3 rose by 1.04% to 115.808, IDX80 increased by 0.85% to 116.378, and IDXESGL moved up by 0.60% to 148.734.

Banking stocks supporting IHSG’s growth included PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI), which increased by 1.74%, followed by PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBNI) at 1.97%, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) at 1.88%, and PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI), which rose by 0.92%.

Other sectors also saw gains, such as PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM)PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGEO), and PT Pertamina Gas Negara Tbk (PGAS). (LK/ZH)
