JAKARTA – Indonesia’s non-oil and gas (nonmigas) imports from China reached USD 6.34 billion in January 2025, an increase of 6.55% from USD 5.91 billion in January 2024.

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) released on Tuesday (18/2), the value of nonmigas imports from China accounted for 40.85% of the total nonmigas imports of USD 15.51 billion.

The imports from China surpassed those from 13 other major countries, including three countries from ASEAN, three European Union (EU) countries, and seven other major countries such as Japan, the United States (US), South Korea, Australia, Taiwan, and India.

Meanwhile, Indonesia’s nonmigas imports from Japan ranked second, with a total of USD 1.15 billion, or 7.42% of the total imports, followed by imports from the US, which amounted to USD 763 million, or 4.92%.

In total, Indonesia’s nonmigas imports were sourced from three ASEAN countries at USD 2.39 billion, three EU countries at USD 869.1 million, seven other major countries at USD 10.20 billion, and other countries at USD 3.08 billion. (LK/ZH)
