Kalbe Farma withdraws 61.7 million treasury shares

JAKARTA - PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (KLBF) has officially withdrawn 61.7 million treasury shares from its buyback process as part of its capital efficiency strategy. This decision was agreed upon during the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) held on February 17, 2025 at the Kalbe Business Innovation Center, Jakarta.
"The company’s shareholders have approved the transfer of part of the company’s treasury shares to be withdrawn through a capital reduction," said the board of directors in a disclosure on Tuesday (18/2).
As a result of this corporate action, KLBF's issued and paid-up capital has been adjusted from IDR 468.8 billion to IDR 468.1 billion, a reduction of IDR 617.3 million. This move aims to optimise the company’s capital structure for greater efficiency.
According to data from IDNFinancials.com, before this action, KLBF held 1.02 billion treasury shares, equivalent to 2.17% of the total shares listed on the exchange. After the withdrawal, the remaining treasury shares total 958 million.
In addition to this share withdrawal, KLBF is still conducting its share buyback programme, which began in May 2024 and is scheduled to end in May 2025. To date, KLBF has repurchased 316.8 million shares. (EF/ZH)
