JAKARTA – Automotive shares, including PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) and PT Indomobil Sukses Internasional Tbk (IMAS), closed lower following the release of domestic car sales data.

According to the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo), wholesale car sales in January 2025 fell by 11.3% year-on-year (yoy) to 61,843 units, while retail sales also plunged by 18.6% yoy to 63,858 units.

On Thursday (20/2), ASII's share price rose by 0.43% to IDR 4,720 per share. However, since the beginning of the year, ASII’s share price has declined by 4.65%.

Meanwhile, IMAS's share price dropped by 3.14% to IDR 770 per share during today’s trading session, marking a 14.92% decline since the start of the year.

Other automotive stocks also experienced declines, including PT Bintang Oto Global Tbk (BOGA), which fell by 0.85%, and PT Putra Mandiri Jembar Tbk (PMJS), down by 1.59%. (DK/KR/ZH)
