JAKARTAPT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk (AMMN) has requested an extension of its copper concentrate export permit this year, as its smelter facility has yet to operate at full capacity.

This was conveyed by Rachmat Makkasau, President Director of AMMN, during a Hearing Meeting (RDP) with Commission XII on Wednesday (19/2). “Currently, our capacity is still around 48%,” said Rachmat.

For this reason, Rachmat hopes the government will grant export leniency to AMMN. "Considering the significant uncertainties in the commissioning process," Rachmat added.

At present, AMMN has a supply of around 200,000 tonnes of copper concentrate. If this supply can be exported, Rachmat said, AMMN will contribute more significantly to state revenues.

As reported earlier by IDNFinancials.com, PT Freeport Indonesia has also submitted a request to extend its copper concentrate export permit to the government.

Freeport stated that this step was necessary to address the accumulation of copper concentrate stocks, following damage to its smelter facility late last year. (KR/ZH)
