JAKARTA – President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, officially inaugurated the Investment Management Agency of Daya Anagata Nusantara (BPI Danantara) on Monday (24/2) at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta.

The launch event attracted a number of prominent figures, including former Presidents and Vice Presidents of Indonesia, leaders of national institutions, central bank officials, foreign ambassadors, ministers, members of the parliament (DPR), People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR), special advisors, and the president's special staff.

Additionally, university rectors, economists, political party leaders, civil society organisation figures, financial services regulators, business associations, and executives from state-owned and private companies were in attendance.

Danantara was established following the Indonesian parliament's approval of a law on February 4, 2025. This agency was created to consolidate the management of state-owned enterprises (BUMN), optimise dividend returns, and manage state investments.

Danantara is designed to manage assets worth up to USD 980 billion, equivalent to IDR 15,978 trillion. Its funding sources include state capital injections and various other funds.

Prabowo previously mentioned that Danantara would operate similarly to Singapore's Temasek Holdings. (KR/ZH)
