JAKARTA – PT ABM Investama Tbk (ABMM), through its subsidiary, PT Cipta Kridatama, is collaborating with SUN Energy to develop a solar power plant (PLTS).

What makes this latest project special is that the PLTS uses a Containerised Battery Energy Storage System (CBESS), or a microgrid battery energy storage system within a container.

This is Indonesia’s first PLTS CBESS, located in Jambi, with a solar power capacity of 643.8 kilowatt peak (kWp). The facility will also be equipped with a battery storage system with a capacity of 1 megawatt hour (MWh), housed in a 20-foot container.

“This PLTS is part of PT Cipta Kridatama’s commitment to implementing sustainability practices in the industrial sector,” said Meidi Wibowo, President Director of Cipta Kridatama. The system’s implementation is also cited as a tangible step by Cipta Kridatama in supporting ABM Group’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives.

Meanwhile, Chief Sales Officer of SUN Energy, Oky Gunawan, believes that the establishment of such innovative solar power plants will not only improve energy efficiency but also ensure a reliable electricity supply for industries in remote areas. (DH/ZH)
