Controller spent billions for higher stakes in SOSS

JAKARTA – PT Alsok Bass Indonesia Security Services (ABISS) has increased its stake in PT Shield On Service Tbk (SOSS) through transactions last week (12/2).
Hiroshi Iwai, President Director of SOSS, stated that ABISS purchased 3.99 million shares at IDR 590 per share. "The purpose of the transaction is for investment," he said on Tuesday (25/2).
As the controlling shareholder of SOSS, ABISS’s stake rose to 79.83% from 79.33%. In other words, its total shares increased to 638.15 million from 634.15 million. The transaction value is estimated at IDR 2.35 billion.
On the same day, PT Inlife, another SOSS shareholder, sold 3.99 million shares at IDR 590 per share, reducing its stake to 4.5% from 5%. Inlife sold the shares to generate cash.
As of January 2025, SOSS has a total of 799.41 million shares, with the ownership structure consisting of ABISS at 79.33%, PT Puragraha at 12.51%, Inlife at 5%, and the public at 3.16%.
The free float portion stands at 3.16%, and there are 609 shareholders. The ultimate beneficiary of SOSS shares is Sohgo Security Services Ltd. (LK/ZH)
