Foreign transaction volume skyrockets; net sell 237 million shares

JAKARTA – On Tuesday, February 25, foreign investor transactions on the Indonesia Stock Exchange once more showed a net sell. Foreign transactions resulted in a net sell of 237.48 million shares today, compared to 216.05 million shares on the previous trading day.
Comparing the volume of foreign buying and selling to the previous trading day (February 24), there was a notable increase. An estimated 4.08 billion shares of stock were purchased by foreign investors overall. Today, foreign investors had a net sell of 237.48 million shares, with a sales volume (foreign sell) of 4.32 billion shares.
At 173.26 million shares, the IDX had the largest net sell of the day from PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) shares. International investors in this national bank bought almost 100 million BBRI but sold more than 272.70 million.
PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA) then had a net sell of 83.64 million shares. The figure came from the purchase of 208.83 million BUKA shares and the sale of 292.47 million shares. After foreigners relinquished 171.10 million of their shares, PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI), another national bank, followed with a net sell of 66.73 million shares.
With net sales of 39.07 million UNVR and 37.22 million MDKA, respectively, PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk (UNVR) and PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk (MDKA) are at the bottom of the net sell list.
Foreign sales of UNVR approached 90 million shares, while MDKA's was 62.82 million shares. MDKA is in the metals industry, whereas UNVR shares are involved in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG).
Meanwhile, PT GOTO Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) led the net buy list with a net buy of 185.50 million shares. In addition to purchasing more than 1.74 billion GOTO, foreign investors in this digital service issuer released over 1.55 billion.
PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) trailed GOTO by a net buy of 70.32 million shares. Foreigners only sold about 61.14 million shares, while they purchased 131.88 million BUMI. After foreigners purchased well over 60 million of its shares, coal issuer PT Exploitasi Energi Indonesia Tbk (CNKO) followed with a net buy of 58.53 million shares.
Then, a net buy of 44.07 million shares was completed by PT Buana Lintas Lautan Tbk (BULL), an issuer of oil and gas tankers. Over 50 million BULL shares were purchased by foreigners. Finally, PT Maharaksa Biru Energi Tbk (OASA) reported a net buy of around 25.40 million shares. Roughly 39.42 million shares of this renewable energy issuer were purchased overseas. (KD)
