JAKARTA - PT Elnusa Tbk (ELSA), through its subsidiary, PT Elnusa Trans Samudera (ETSA), has launched a new hopper barge named Elnusa Samudra 11.

The vessel was launched at the Adiluhung Sarana Segara Indonesia shipyard in Madura as part of ETSA's strategy to expand its services in the maritime sector.

Kurniawati Adjie, Director of ETSA, stated that the introduction of Elnusa Samudra 11 is a strategic step to strengthen the company’s services in the marine and offshore fields.

"We hope this investment will open more opportunities in the maritime industry while improving operational effectiveness and efficiency," she said in a disclosure to the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) on Saturday (1/3).

Elnusa Samudra 11 has a Domestic Component Level (TKDN) of 95% and is designed with two main functions. First, as a dredging hopper barge for transporting dredged materials. Second, as a drilling cutting hopper barge containment to support oil and gas well drilling and well intervention activities.

Kurniawati added that ETSA has extensive experience operating various types of sea transportation, such as landing craft tanks (LCT), utility vessels, seismic vessels, and various types of barges, including well testing barges, accommodation work barges, and hopper barges.

"Currently, ETSA operates hopper barges for the transport of water-based mud drilling and dredging activities. With this experience, we are optimistic about supporting smooth upstream oil and gas operations in Indonesia," she said.

This investment also aligns with the commitment to maintain national energy security and support the government's target of reaching 1 million barrels of oil per day and 12 BSCFD of gas production. (DK/ZH)
