JAKARTA – PT Bank SMBC Indonesia Tbk (BTPN), formerly known as Bank BTPN, saw its net interest income surge by 26.3% year-on-year (yoy) to IDR 15.2 trillion by the end of 2024, up from IDR 12.0 trillion at the end of 2023.

According to the Financial Report published for December 2024, SMBC Indonesia recorded a 16.6% yoy increase in credit disbursement to IDR 169.2 trillion, from IDR 145.2 trillion in 2023.

This figure excludes the disbursement of sharia financing through its subsidiary, PT Bank BTPN Syariah Tbk (BTPS), which dropped 10.7% yoy to IDR 10.2 trillion by the end of 2024.

As a note, on March 27, 2024, the company acquired Oto Group, Oto Multiartha, and Summit Oto Finance, to capture the vehicle financing market.

Additionally, SMBC Indonesia’s operating profit rose 18.6% yoy to IDR 4.1 trillion as of December 2024, while net profit attributable to the parent entity increased by 19.3% yoy to IDR 2.8 trillion, up from IDR 2.4 trillion in 2023. (ZH/VA)
