JAKARTA - The addition of 677.18 million shares to PT ESSA Industries Indonesia Tbk (ESSA) by Bank Julius Baer And Co Ltd, Singapore, was noted in the list of share ownership changes exceeding 5% of the Indonesia Stock Exchange on Friday, February 28.

This foreign investor bought those shares in the LPG refinery and ammonia plant operator through PT Bank HSBC Indonesia, with a total of 1.66 billion shares, or 9.69% of ESSA.

Morgan Stanley And Co International Plc, a foreign investor in PT MD Entertainment Tbk (FILM), also purchased shares, contributing 1.17 million shares of the production company. PT Bank HSBC Indonesia supported this transaction, and the investor's stake portion went up marginally to 11.53%.

Then, through PT Trust Sekuritas, PT Delemont Global Venture purchased 53.84 million shares of PT Data Sinergitama Jaya Tbk (ELIT). Its stake in this IT issuer is now 15.08%, up from 12.43% previously. Additionally, PT Panin Sekuritas Tbk acquired approximately 11.10 million shares, resulting in a 6.75% stake in PT Elnusa Tbk (ELSA), a provider of oil and gas drilling support services.

Two of its investors once more traded shares of PT Sawit Sumbermas Sarana Tbk (SSMS), a company that produces palm oil. PT Putra Borneo Agro Lestari sold 72.57 million shares of SSMS through PT Korea Investment And Sekuritas Indonesia and PT KB Valbury Sekuritas, while PT Citra Borneo Indah purchased 46.97 million shares through PT Maybank Sekuritas Indonesia. The current share percentage of Citra Borneo is 8.54%, while Putra Borneo holds 7.34% of SSMS.

Shares also seemed to be being sold by foreign investors. Through PT Sinarmas Sekuritas, J Trust Co. Ltd. sold over 170 million shares of banking issuer PT Bank Jtrust Indonesia Tbk (BCIC), keeping the remaining 8.11% of the shares. Then, through PT Bank HSBC Indonesia, which held the remaining 5.45% of the shares, HSBC Bank Plc issued 700,000 shares of the onshore and offshore drilling business PT Apexindo Pratama Duta Tbk (APEX).

Additionally, two major shareholders decided to cut back on their holdings. Through PT KAF Sekuritas Indonesia, PT Aims Indo Investama sold 6.37 million shares of PT Artha Mahiya Investama Tbk (AIMS), a restaurant and lifestyle company. Its current share rate is 70.47%. Finally, PT Indovest Central sold almost 2 million shares of PT Charnic Capital Tbk (NICK), an investment and property rental company, with a remaining 60.7% of shares.
