JAKARTAPT Metrodata Electronics Tbk (MTDL) projected its 2024 profits to grow around 13% to 14% compared to the same period in 2023.

“I can't talk about the exact profits yet because they are not audited. But both revenue and profit will increase by around 13%-14%,” said Susanto Djaja, during the "Meet The CEO" event, an exclusive interview program by IDNFinancials.com in collaboration with Suara.com, on Wednesday (5/3).

In this interview, Susanto was joined by Mohamad Teguh, Editor-in-Chief of IDNFinancials.com, and Suwarjono, Editor-in-Chief of Suara.com.

During the session, he acknowledged that 2024 revenues are likely to be lower compared to 2023.

In 2023, profits from the consulting and artificial intelligence (AI) sectors grew by more than 15%, while the distribution sector grew only by 5%. "In 2024, the situation reversed, with consulting growth below 15%, while distribution performed better."

He explained that the key driver behind distribution growth was the telecommunications sector, particularly the sales of Infinix brand smartphones.

Although overall telecommunications market growth was not significant, the company benefited from strong smartphone sales performance.

In addition to telecommunications and smartphones, other sectors such as consumer, commercial, and solution and consulting also contributed to MTDL’s profit growth, with each sector adding 5%, leading to a total growth in telecommunications of over 100%.

As a result, MTDL achieved 14% growth in Q3 2024. "For the full year 2024, we expect revenue to close at IDR 25 trillion," said Susanto. (DK/ZH)
