JAKARTA – PT Bank Permata Tbk (BNLI) reported that its corporate loan disbursement increased by 11.7% year-on-year (yoy) until the end of January 2025, continuing the positive trend from the end of December 2024. As of January 2025, BNLI's total loan distribution reached IDR 152.69 trillion.

This was revealed by Meliza M. Rusli, President Director of BNLI, during the 2025 Bank Permata Public Exposé held today (7/3). "Overall, for corporate—and commercial—I can say the traction remains quite strong as we enter 2025, especially in January," added Rudy Basyir Ahmad, BNLI’s Finance and Sharia Business Director, at the same event.

Previously, Rudy mentioned that in 2024, BNLI's loan disbursement grew by 8.9% yoy to IDR 154.9 trillion, with corporate loans being the primary driver.

As of December 2024, BNLI's corporate loans grew the fastest, up by 12.4% yoy to IDR 88.9 trillion, accounting for 57.4% of total loans.

Meliza further detailed the five key industry sectors targeted for BNLI's corporate loan disbursement: mining and other energy sectors, digital/telecom, automotive/EV, healthcare, and renewable energy. "These sectors have contributed significantly to our corporate loan disbursement," she explained.

Not only did loan disbursements run smoothly, but BNLI's gross non-performing loan (NPL) ratio also improved, dropping from 2.9% in 2023 to 2.1% in 2024.

"In terms of NPL ratio, the corporate segment is performing better compared to other segments," said Meliza. As of January 2025, the gross NPL ratio for corporate loans reached 1.6%, lower than the bank-wide level of 2.1%.

On the other hand, growth in the consumer segment slowed, rising by only 4.1% yoy to IDR 44.7 trillion in 2024, despite being the second-largest segment after corporate. Unfortunately, this slowdown continued for BNLI at the beginning of 2025.

"Perhaps our biggest challenge is in the personal/individual sector; we see that mortgage growth or housing loans (KPR) remains quite challenging at the start of this year," Rudy further acknowledged. (ZH)
