JAKARTA – President Prabowo Subianto hosted a second meeting with several conglomerates and Ray Dalio, founder of hedge fund Bridgewater Associates, at the Presidential Palace on Friday (7/3).

In his presentation, Prabowo expressed that Indonesia needs Ray Dalio's insights and experience to help develop Danantara, Indonesia's newly launched Sovereign Wealth Fund, which will manage state-owned assets valued at USD 900 billion.

"We have launched this new Sovereign Wealth Fund and we are very fortunate to have you here," Prabowo said to Ray Dalio during the meeting.

Prabowo was accompanied by several ministers, including State-Owned Enterprises Minister Erick Thohir, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, and Investment Minister and Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani.

Conglomerates in attendance at the second meeting included Prajogo Pangestu (Barito Group), Anthoni Salim (Indofood Group), Garibaldi Thohir (Adaro Group), Franky Widjaja (Sinar Mas Group), and Chairul Tanjung (Trans Group).

Also present were James Riady (Lippo Group), Hilmi Panigoro (Medco Group), Haji Isam (Jhonlin Group), Sugianto Kusuma (Agung Sedayu Group), Dato Sri Tahir (Mayapada Group), and Tommy Winata (Artha Graha Group).

On Thursday (6/3), Prabowo had also invited some of these conglomerates to the Presidential Palace, discussing topics such as the Free Nutritious Meals Programme, 3 million homes for low-income families, and Danantara. (KR/ZH)
