Prabowo: Online drivers will receive a Holiday Bonus

JAKARTA – President Prabowo Subianto announced that drivers of online transportation services (ojol) will receive a Holiday Bonus (BHR) in the form of cash from online transportation service providers.
President Prabowo Subianto said that the government is paying special attention to online drivers and couriers who have made significant contributions in supporting transportation and logistics services in Indonesia.
"Therefore, the government urges all app-based transportation companies to provide a Holiday Bonus to drivers in the form of cash, considering their work activity," the President stated during a press conference at the Presidential Palace, Monday (10/3).
Currently, according to Prabowo, there are 250,000 active online drivers and 1-1.5 million part-time workers. "The amount and mechanism for providing this Holiday Bonus will be announced by the Ministry of Manpower through a circular letter," he said.
The President said that with the BHR policy, online motorcycle taxi drivers are expected to enjoy the Eid holiday in good condition.
During the press conference, President Prabowo Subianto was accompanied by Yassierli, Minister of Manpower, Patrick Walujo, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PT Goto Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO), Anthony Tan, CEO of Grab, and representatives of online motorcycle taxi drivers. (LK/ZH)
