JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital (Wamenkomdigi), Nezar Patria, launched guidelines for fulfilling the responsibility obligations of digital companies, in order to support quality journalism in Jakarta, Monday (10/3).

In his remarks, Nezar emphasised that this guideline is an important step in building a fair digital ecosystem and supporting the sustainability of quality journalism.

‘This guideline is a reference for digital platforms and media companies in establishing mutually beneficial cooperation. This is a big step to ensure journalism continues to grow in the digital era,’ said Nezar at the Media Centre, Ministry of Communications and Digital Office, Monday, 10/3/2025.

Nezar also highlighted the role of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 32 of 2024 as the regulatory basis for this cooperation.

According to him, the implementation of this guideline will encourage a healthier digital ecosystem and provide space for the media to develop sustainably.

The launch event was attended by various stakeholders, including representatives of the Press Council, the Independent Journalists Association, the Indonesian Cyber Media Association, media companies, representatives of Google and digital platforms, and the Committee for Fulfilling the Responsibilities of Digital Platforms to Support Quality Journalism (KTP2JB).

‘In the future, it is hoped that cooperation between digital platforms and publishers can run with the principles of transparency, fairness, and sustainability,’ said Nezar. (DK)
