JAKARTA – PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS) has officially engaged PT Macmahon Indonesia (MMI) as the main contractor for the underground gold mining project managed by its subsidiary, PT Citra Palu Minerals (CPM), in Poboya, Palu, Central Sulawesi.

MMI, a subsidiary of Macmahon Holdings Limited, which is listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX), has extensive experience in both open-pit and underground mining. The appointment of MMI is expected to expedite the realisation of gold production at Poboya in accordance with international standards.

Agus Projosasmito, President Director & CEO of BRMS, stated that BRMS has been working with MMI on open-pit mining services at Poboya since last year. Now, they are expanding the scope to include underground mining services.

“We are optimistic that this collaboration will ensure the commencement of underground mining operations at Poboya by 2027,” Agus said in an official statement, quoted on Tuesday (11/3).

Previously, Herwin Wahyu Hidayat, Director of BRMS, confirmed that the loan finalisation process related to this project is still ongoing.

“The estimated amount is USD 200–300 million. The loan facility finalisation is currently in progress,” Herwin said, when contacted by IDNFinancials.com on February 27. (EF/ZH)
