JAKARTA – Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) weakened again by 0.79% or 52.36 points to 6,545.85 during Tuesday’s (11/3) trading, continuing the decline from the beginning of this week.

According to data from Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), shares of PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) ranked first on the Top Laggards list, or the shares that dragged down JCI. This was followed by shares of PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (TPIA) and PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk (AMRT).

GOTO shares contributed to the index’s decline by 10.97 points after its price dropped by 5.88%. Meanwhile, TPIA and AMRT shares each pressured the index by 6.85 and 5.24 points.

On the other hand, shares of PT DCI Indonesia Tbk (DCII) remained strong in holding back JCI’s decline, contributing 22.41 index points. Additionally, shares of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) and PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) also contributed to the gains by 4.61 and 2.68 index points, respectively.

Amid the weakening of JCI, foreign investors recorded a net sell of IDR 332.66 billion on Tuesday. However, yesterday’s net sell portion was still much lower compared to the beginning of this week’s trading, which reached IDR 843.73 billion. (KR/ZH)
