ASII car sales rise 11.62% in February 2025

JAKARTA - PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) reported an 11.62% month-on-month (mom) increase in car sales for February 2025, reaching 38,546 units, compared to the previous month’s 34,531 units.
However, cumulatively for January-February (2M) 2025, ASII’s total car sales fell by 8.66% year-on-year (yoy) to 73,077 units.
Boy Kelana Soebroto, ASII's Head of Corporate Communications, stated that Toyota and Lexus remained the largest contributors to the company's car sales in 2M 2025, with a total of 46,638 units sold. They were followed by Daihatsu with 21,942 units, Isuzu with 4,109 units, and UD Truck with 388 units.
"The upcoming Eid holiday is expected to boost vehicle demand, as increasing social activities create a need for mobility solutions that meet customers' needs," Boy said in a statement, as quoted on Wednesday (12/3).
Overall, ASII continues to dominate the car market with a 54% market share, out of the national total of 134,227 units sold since the beginning of the year.
ASII also maintains control of 68% of Indonesia’s Low-Cost Green Car (LCGC) market, despite a contraction in this segment. ASII’s LCGC sales for 2M 2025 amounted to 19,016 units, down 21.85% yoy from 24,335 units in 2M 2024. (EF/KR/ZH)
