JAKARTA – Task Force for the Eradication of Illegal Financial Activities (Satgas PASTI) has urged the Indonesian public to be cautious of fraud schemes in the financial sector ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1446 H, or Lebaran 2025.

Satgas PASTI outlined various schemes typically used, including illegal online loan offers, fraudulent investments, phishing to steal personal data, impersonation, and part-time job offers.

As of March 13, 2025, Satgas PASTI has shut down 12,721 illegal financial entities. This consists of 1,737 illegal investment entities, 10,733 illegal online loan entities, and 251 illegal pawnshop entities.

It is worth noting that the Financial Services Authority (OJK) has established the Indonesia Anti-Scam Centre (IASC) to combat fraud in the financial sector.

Since its inception, IASC has received 67,866 reports from the public. “The total financial losses reported by victims amount to IDR 1.2 trillion, with IDR 129.1 billion of funds blocked,” said Hudiyanto, Secretary of Satgas PASTI, in an official statement last weekend.

Therefore, Satgas PASTI encourages victims of fraud to report through the IASC website at iasc.ojk.go.id, providing relevant evidence. (KR/ZH)
