Meeting chamber representatives, Luhut discusses investment relaxation

JAKARTA – Chairman of the National Economic Council (DEN), Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, held a meeting with representatives from national and international chambers of commerce in Jakarta on Tuesday (25/3).
Among the attendees were representatives from the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham), British Chamber of Commerce (BritCham), Korean Chamber of Commerce (KoCham), and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin).
During the meeting, Luhut and the chamber representatives discussed regulatory certainty in Indonesia, which has been a key concern for foreign investors. Several representatives, according to Luhut’s personal Instagram post, also expressed frustrations over obstacles to their respective countries' business expansion plans.
“Their expectations are clear: simpler regulations, more harmonious policies between ministries, and stronger certainty to support long-term business growth,” Luhut said.
Following the meeting, Luhut plans to report the outcomes to President Prabowo Subianto. Additionally, he will coordinate with the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs to identify investment barriers.
“We want to ensure that Indonesia is not only attractive to investors but also a place where businesses can thrive and remain highly competitive,” Luhut added. (KR/ZH)
