JAKARTA – Two top executives of PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) have resigned from their positions as independent commissioner and director, respectively.

Gita Tiffani Boer, Corporate Secretary of ASII, announced that Bambang Permadi Soemantri Brodjonegoro stepped down as Independent Commissioner and Suparno Djasmin resigned as Director of ASII. "Yesterday (25/3), the company received their resignation letters," she stated in an official disclosure.

She explained that Bambang PS Brodjonegoro resigned due to his appointment as Dean of The Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) in Tokyo, Japan, while Suparno Djasmin retired.

Bambang PS Brodjonegoro previously served as Minister of Finance under President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Minister of Research and Technology/Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency under President Joko Widodo. Before leaving ASII, he also resigned as Independent Commissioner of PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk (INDF) and PT TBS Energi Utama Tbk (TOBA), as well as President Commissioner of PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA).

Meanwhile, Suparno Djasmin began his career at ASII in 1987. He served as Chief Executive Officer of ASII – Isuzu Sales Operations from 2001-2007, Chief Executive Officer of ASII – Daihatsu Sales Operations from 2007-2013, Chief Executive Officer of Toyota Sales Operations from 2013-2015, and Vice President Director of PT Toyota-Astra Motor from 2014-2015. Since 2014-2025, he held the position of Director at ASII. (LK/ZH)
